I have severe peanut and tree nut allergies. I have to be really careful about what I eat. I can’t eat anything with nuts in them and it makes it difficult. My mom has to call the company that makes the food or drink and ask if it is cross contaminated or if it is safe for me to eat. Sometimes this can take two weeks or longer. One morning my mom was on Facebook and she said “oh my God!” and I was very confused. She said that there was this camp called Camp Emerson and it is all nut and tree nut free. She said I am going to book when we can go, I was so excited. Then it was time to pack. I brought a lot of stuff. It was like a 4 hour drive. But we got there and then we had to get some food. For us the food was so good and I could eat all of it. The best part is I could eat dessert and I never get to do that at restaurants. Before we went to sleep we went to check out the bathroom that was not connected to our cabin. There were showers. It was weird because there were wood panels everywhere. Then it was time to get settled but there were some bugs, it was different than home but I got the hang of it sooner or later. The next day I was excited, I was jumping up and down. I am pretty sure that I almost touched the ceiling because it was activity day. I met these girls and they were nice. Their names were Anna and Luisa. They were sisters. I would see them everywhere. For the next three days I played with them all the time. We went swimming in a lake where I thought a crocodile was going to get me. We went zip lining and you let go into the lake. Finally we went to the art station and made friendship bracelets but Luisa’s broke. I thought she was going to cry. We got some sad news that they live all the way in the middle of Texas -THAT IS SOOOOOOOO FAR AWAY FROM ME!, I thought. The next night I was kind of sad but I tried my best not to be sad and just have fun for the time that I was there. But I must say the food there was so good I loved it there. It was amazing. The owner and his wife were so kind. The camp manager lived all the way in Australia. He had a cool accent and he would say hi every morning when I went up to get breakfast. I wish the trip was longer. It was four days but not long enough, but it was ok because I had a lot of fun. I do miss Anna and Luisa a lot. It's ok though because our parents have each other's phone number. I loved Camp Emerson because I felt normal because I could eat everything like all the other kids.
