Hello Fourth Graders! My name is Mrs. Parent and I am the Academic Tutor that will be helping in your classroom Monday through Thursday mornings during Math and ELA. I am looking forward to meeting some of you for the first time and reconnecting with my old friends from Third grade. I can’t wait to hear how you spent your summer.
We had so many hot days over break! I made a couple trips to the beach, but mostly spent the days by my pool to stay cool. I also spent time reading several books because I love to read. We had a few family gatherings for July 4th and summer birthday celebrations. I took walks on the Blackstone River Greenway and saw my favorite country music artist in concert. Here are some pictures from my summer vacation:
Our family vacation was at Sagamore Beach in Bourne, MA. Bourne is right at the beginning of Cape Cod. Even though I was on vacation,
I still got up early each morning to watch the beautiful sunrise from our cottage.

Family members came to visit while we were at the beach. On this day, a large group of us went kayaking at Scorton Creek in Sandwich.
Our paddle was peaceful and educational because our guide told us all about the wildlife living in the creek including fish, crabs and birds. Even on vacation I’m still learning about new things!
Below is a picture of my immediate family- My son Robbie, my daughter Lauren and I’m in the middle with my husband Steve.

This summer I took walks with my friend along the
Blackstone River Greenway Click the link to learn more about this bike path that runs from Worcester, MA to Providence, RI. There is beautiful scenery along the way. Next summer I hope to have my bicycle fixed up so I can take bike rides too.

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to attend concerts- I love all types of music. I am a big fan of country music. In July I saw Keith Urban in Mansfield, MA for the 5th time- I am a huge fan of his music. It felt really good to be outdoors hearing live music again!
Although I’m sad to see summer come to an end, the bright spot is that I get to be back in the classroom with all of you. I am also very excited to work with Mrs. Willinski this year. I know she has many fun things planned for our class. I can’t wait to see you all!
See you soon!
